About Coffee House Films, Inc.
After finishing college at the University of Chicago in 2016, Michael Modak-Truran founded Coffee House Films, Inc. He acts as president and CEO of the nonprofit film production company. With Coffee House Films, Michael hopes to combine a number of his passions: filmmaking, history, music, a love for unusual and engaging stories, and coffee. He does so by forming production teams with members from a wide array of fields: music, history, narrative film, academic research, and documentary technique.
Currently, Michael and Coffee House Films are honored to produce the first authorized documentary about Nobel-prize-winning author, William Faulkner. “The Past is Never Dead”: The Story of William Faulkner bridges the gap between narrative and documentary forms to tell the untold story of one of the best writers of the twentieth century.
